Lithium Ion Battery Safety
Are battery powered mowers safe?
Like all riding lawn mowers, Cub Cadet’s Lithium-ion Electric Riding Lawn Mowers are safe to operate when used under normal conditions and care. All our Lithium-ion Electric Riding Lawn Mowers have gone through rigorous testing to confirm their compliance with UL 2753, UL 2595 and UL 1564, which test the safety and performance of the battery, charging device and mower.
Can the Cub Cadet Lithium-ion Electric Riding Lawn Mowers be used in the rain or wet conditions?
The Cub Cadet Lithium-ion Electric Riding Lawn Mowers are engineered to handle cutting in damp or moist grass conditions. Like other outdoor power equipment, the mower should not be operated in the rain, taken through heavily saturated areas or stored outside.
What are the recommended battery safety precautions?
1. Do not expose the battery to fire or to temperatures over 140º F (60º C). Doing so may cause damage to the battery and pose a risk for explosion.
2. Handle battery with care. Do not short the battery with conductive materials, such as rings, bracelets, keys, etc. Shorting the battery may cause personal injury, damage to the battery or a fire.
3. Do not attempt to charge a cracked or damaged battery.
4. Do not use or charge a wet battery or a battery that shows any evidence of corrosion.
5. Do not use a damaged or modified battery. Doing so could result in a fire, explosion or personal injury.
6. Do not dispose of the battery in a fire. The cell may explode. Contact your local authorized service dealer for proper battery recycling.
7. Do not charge a frozen battery. Only charge batteries in temperatures between 32° and 104° F (0° and 40° C).
